What Are Clear Aligners
Clear Aligners, which look like transparent gumshields, are designed to treat a maximum of 6 to 8 teeth. They are most frequently used to treat front teeth, although it may be possible to treat other teeth in suitable cases.
Because they are transparent, most people will be unaware you’re straightening your teeth unless you yourself tell them! They are the quick, safe, comfortable way to make minor adjustments.
How Do Aligners Work
Clear Aligners are custom-made to fit snugly over your top or bottom teeth, applying constant, gentle, precise pressure to ease teeth back into position. They must be worn throughout the day during treatment, only being removed for eating and cleaning.
Progress will be monitored by your dentist, with a new set of aligners provided every so often as the teeth move. The aligners work by putting pressure on the teeth that need to be moved so of course, the more the aligners are worn, the more effect it will have on the teeth.
What About The Result
The amount of time the retainers will be needed for can vary it depends on the severity of the case and how much the teeth need to move to reach their desired outcome. Clear Aligners can typically straighten teeth anywhere from 6-16 weeks, many patients see a noticeable improvement in as little as 2 weeks.
Are Clear Aligners For Me?
We have had many patients successfully straighten their teeth using clear aligners, however each individual and each case is different. Clear aligners are not always suitable for everyone therefore booking a consultation at Rutland Dental Care is your best starting point.
We can review the desired outcome and the various options whilst also showing you a digital scan of how your teeth could look once aligners treatment is complete.
